Hostage Crisis Near Hardbako
Reports of a hostage situation began to trickle out of Battlegroup 1 earlier today as an unnamed E-UNI member was being held in a wormhole space against his will.

The trapped pilot had jumped into the wormhole to practice scanning, but was prevented from leaving by a pair of drakes, a cheetah and a hound class vessels, who had set up a 'bubble camp' on the exit from w-space to Hardbako, and the would-be kidnappers used local to attempt to ransom 50M ISK from the Unista. That opportunistic decision turned out to be a costly mistake.

Shortly after 02:00 on the 9th, word was leaked to Battlegroup 1, many of whom had left the Aldrat area for peace time activities, and they scrambled back to their home system to facilitate a rescue. While members of the fleet were still en-route to Aldrat, the fleet was being formed and a strategy was being developed and tactics discussed.

At this time, a few other pilots with, as we're told, extensive w-space experience were informed and sped towards Aldrat. Command of Battlegroup 1’s fleet was turned over to Vice Admiral Ubercado.

Scouts were dispatched to the Hardbako side of the wormhole to keep an eye on the traffic while the trapped Unista kept the rescue fleet informed of the situation making use of his probes & directional scanner, meaning the rescue fleet knew exactly what was waiting for them on the other side. Once overwhelming force was readied, the rescue fleet made the single jump to Hardbako and prepared to enter w-space.

Details are classified, but the public version of what transpired is as follows: A lone pilot jumped in an engaged the targets, then once the kidnappers were engaged, the rest of the fleet jumped in and de-cloaked. After soiling their flight suits, the drake pilots warped off not to be heard from again, while the Cheetah pilot was not so lucky, as it is believed he was caught in his own warp bubble, and his attempt at a 50M pay day turned into a 47M bill to replace the Cheetah.

The trapped pilot was credited with keeping his cool and waiting the bad guys out. He didn’t force a bad situation by playing into their hands and waited them out. His patience paid off as he left the scene intact and his would be kidnapper left to replace his Cheetah.
